Spinal Fractures

What is a Spinal Fracture and How Can I Avoid Them?

(Click on video to play)

Did  you know that osteoporosis is the primary cause of bone fractures?

If you have osteoporosis you are at risk of developing a spinal fracture. Fractures of the spine, also known as compression fractures, occur when one of the bones of the spinal column weakens and collapses.

In many cases, normal activities as simple as stepping off a curb or picking up a grandchild can cause a bone in the spine to fracture.

Osteoporosis, a disease often associated with age results in a significant loss of bone density and strength which, in tern, weakens our bones and makes them susceptible to breaking.

But what really causes osteoporosis and how can we prevent it and reverse it?

Lack of calcium is one reason for loss of bone density

But many don't know that MOST of the calcium you intake is passed right through your body because you do not have the right combination and type of vitamins and minerals. You think that your calcium rich foods and calcium supplements are working -- but sadly, they are doing you no good. Click here for more information on calcium.

Many of your prescription drugs are robbing your body of bone mass. Do you know which of your medications may be crippling you? Did your doctor tell you that alternative drugs, without these terrible side effects, are often available? Learn what to ask your doctor. Do you take Fosamax, Actonel, Boniva, Reclast or other osteoporosis drugs? Learn why ABC News, CBS News, The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times and countless other news organizations are warning people about this class of drugs. Click here to see the warnings.

Do you ever take antacids? STOP!! Learn why antacids may be destroying your body's natural ability to keep your bones strong and dense. Click here to learn of the dangers of antacids and acid reflux drugs.

Are you in pain?

Have you experienced a sudden onset of pain?

People often recognize that they have had a fracture because they experience the sudden onset of pain. And the pain they feel is normally in the area of the fracture.  This pain is often chronic and may be permanent.

As a result of a spinal fracture, people may have problems walking and performing normal daily activities which can have a large impact on the person's quality of life.

It is very important to understand the risks associated with a spinal fracture -- DON'T ignore the symptoms such as back painMany osteoporosis sufferers do not realize that their chronic back pain is being caused by compression fractures from their weak bones.

Don't wait until you are in permanent, chronic pain before taking action.

Every day you wait can result in fractures and chronic pain.

PREVENT spinal fractures...follow my simple advice and gain your life back!
